Scott Wallant, AIA, graduated from Yale University in 1974 and received a Master of Architecture degree from the Yale School of Architecture in 1978 before going to work in New York City for the internationally renowned Philip Johnson. He then spent five years as a designer and project manager working on projects set amidst some of the worlds most exclusive real estate in Fairfield County, Connecticut, before moving to the Albany area to start his own firm in 1989.
Since 1997, Scott Wallant + Associates’ staff has been led by project managers Stephen Janenka (RPI Bachelor of Architecture,1982) and Lauri Hyatt, (RPI, Bachelor of Building Science, 1982, Bachelor of Architecture,1983). Steve, a timber frame design/builder until joining SW + A, brings a deep knowledge of construction craft to his design and project administration. Lauri, a leader in all phases of professional practice and production and a true expert in AutoCad, is the reason SW-A’s production drawings are second to none.
Although SW + A’s projects are well informed by architectural history, they represent highly specific, original solutions to the functional and aesthetic opportunities found in each unique project and budget. SW + A’s commercial, religious and residential designs have appeared on the covers of Builder Magazine and Hudson Valley Magazine and have received design awards from the American Institute of Architects.
